Beaver

The beaver is a large rodent known for building dams and lodges along rivers and lakes. Using its strong teeth, it gnaws trees and assembles branches and mud to construct its home. Primarily nocturnal, it is an excellent swimmer and spends much of its life in water. Often called an ecosystem engineer, its dams create habitats for other wildlife. Adapted to cold climates, it has dense fur that insulates against the cold.
